100th Anniversary and Royal Title
2020 is the year we celebrate Control Union completing 100 years in the sector and making a difference around the world.
Our story began on August 1, 1920, when the Peterson family founded our company as a control organization providing quality and inspection services in grain and feed. Today, exactly 100 years later, all of the services we have developed over the years continue to work with reliability around the world.
Honesty, integrity, respect for people, society and the environment have helped us reach the point of a century company at the heart of all our operations for 100 years.
Sustainability was the theme of our 100th Anniversary celebrations, recognizing the challenges we all face in relation to climate change and our desire to grow together.
We chose it as a symbol of growth and strength to represent our activities at our 100th anniversary celebrations. That’s why we’ve started a global tree planting program on behalf of all our employees around the world. Within the framework of the program, trees were planted in various areas in the countries where the offices of the Control Union are located.
Royal Title
A royal designation is a privilege that can be granted to companies to symbolize respect, gratitude and trust to the recipient. Peterson has played an important role in the process of granting royal status regarding the historical and current activities of the Control Union, particularly in relation to social, financial, fiscal, governance and ethical conduct.
Our company was awarded the royal status by Willem-Alexander, the king of the Netherlands. The royal appointment was officially confirmed in December 2020 when the charter was awarded to Peterson and Control Union at a ceremony at Control Union Netherlands headquarters.
