Draft survey is a method used to calculate the quantity of bulk cargo by determining the ship’s draft.

The weight of the cargo loaded onto or discharged from a maritime vessel can be determined by reading the ship’s draft marks and calculating the average of these draft marks, as well as the amount of water displaced by the ship.
