Control Union Certifications offers a SMETA (Sedex Members’ Ethical Trade Audit) audit, a method developed by the Sedex multilateral consultancy initiative. SMETA’s role is to ease the audit burden on suppliers by harmonizing social auditing standards and monitoring practices, sharing reports and ensuring improvements in supply chain labor standards.
SMETA 2 Pillar audits follow the standards contained in the ETI core code. SMETA 4 pillar audits add broader environmental management requirements as well as business practices. Reports can be customized to your needs through the Sedex database. Generally, eligible areas complete a self-assessment before audits begin.
