Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple entities and locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, require minimal supervision, and demonstrate the ability to create structure within our finance team. This role involves managing all aspects of finance, including financial accounting close and reporting, treasury functions, cost accounting, inventory management, and utilizing Dynamics 365 ERP systems effectively. The Controller will be instrumental in driving financial excellence and operational efficiency within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for multiple entities.
  • Conduct the yearly external audit.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

Treasury and Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of company funds and monitor financial health across entities.

 

Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Support:

  • Implement and manage cost accounting processes to support manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to monitor and optimize inventory levels and costs.
  • Provide analysis and insights to support decision-making in manufacturing and inventory management.

 

ERP System Expertise:

  • Utilize Dynamics 365 ERP system to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to optimize system functionality and data accuracy.

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to enhance team efficiency and productivity.

Strategic Support:

  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Support business initiatives by analyzing financial implications and risks.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and budgeting processes
  • Work with different departments on a cross-functional team providing support to the business from a finance perspective

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with experience managing multiple entities.
  • Proven expertise in cost accounting, manufacturing operations, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with the Business Central ERP system is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.


Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position based in Harrison, NY
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional visits to other company locations or manufacturing sites.
  • Occasional travel is required to support operations and attend meetings across multiple entities and locations.
  • The role may involve extended hours during financial close periods or special projects.
