Job Description

The Water Resources (WR) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a CRO Regional Well Construction Coordinator (Hydrogeologist 3) (in-Training) position. This position is located in our Central Regional Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA.


In this role, you will serve as the region's technical expert on all well driller licensing and well construction issues, including those requiring complex hydrogeological evaluation. You will have the opportunity to travel throughout many areas of Central Washington and to frequently work outside the office in the field. This role will provide you with opportunities to be on site with water well construction contractors and to learn about the industry and the laws and rules that govern it. You will independently plan, develop, direct, conduct, and/or oversee professional hydrogeological investigations involving well construction issues.

This is an In-Training position. The goal class for this position is a Hydrogeologist 3 (HG3). We will consider applicants who meet the requirements for the Hydrogeologist 2 and 3 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements for the HG2 level, then they will be placed into a training program to become a HG3 within a specified period of time.
