Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Acclaimed restaurant group is seeking a service and business-forward Director of Operations to oversee two full service restaurants and events program, as well as their potential local expansion.The Director of Operations will spearhead growth by expanding revenue streams, controlling costs, and leading services for the company's downtown businesses. Aligning with each restaurant's mission, the Director ensures the success and development of the operations and teams, focusing on excellence in service. Drives value-based decision-making, enhancing team clarity and consistency.

Leadership:

  • As an outcome-focused problem-solver, the Director of Operations eliminates obstacles and fosters confidence and clarity. They keep communication lines open with the team to capitalize on opportunities to drive business objectives.
  • Works closely with management and leadership to operationalize steps and resources. Maintains thorough documentation to seamlessly plan and execute strategies annually.
  • Monitors daily operations to ensure consistent progress toward financial goals while upholding our values and cultural standards. Develops and mentors the management team, aligning their talents and goals with broader organizational objectives.

Operations:

  • Directs daily activities to align with financial and performance goals by analyzing data and metrics, turning insights into strategic actions that promote long-term growth.
  • Continuously refines policies, procedures, and philosophies to maintain efficiency and relevance, ensuring they contribute to team success.
  • Identifies operational challenges and guides the team toward solutions, utilizing internal and external resources effectively.
  • Manages community and business relationships to prioritize brand presence and reputation.

Service & Hospitality:

  • Drives hospitality excellence through demonstration and participation in services. Guides and directs the teams to deliver on our hospitality promise to our community. 
  • Creates and maintains impeccable training programs to ensure consistency in our service performance.
  • Inspires the team to care for and deliver exceptional guest experiences throughout the ranks. 
  • Maximizes dining room capacity to optimize seating and maximize guest count for increased profitability. 

Financials:

  • Leads the team in exceeding sales targets and managing budgets effectively to drive revenue growth.
  • Oversees financial reporting and cash management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with revenue goals.
  • Manages inventory and completes financial, personnel, and payroll administrative duties promptly and according to company policies, focusing on cost control and profitability.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to set strategic priorities, directing focus on revenue-generating opportunities and establishing success metrics. Regularly evaluates financial data and progress to celebrate achievements and identify areas for improvement. 


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years experience as General Manager or Director role at a high volume establishment
  • Experienced in managing, training, and developing leaders 
  • Takes pride in anticipating and creating moments of hospitality
  • Talent development; able to inspire and get the best performance out of their team
  • Speaks up & contributes their ideas
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in handling HR and Accounting business needs
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • A strategic mindset with a commitment to long-term sustainability and growth
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate service and events.
