Job Description

Acadian Ambulance is currently seeking candidates for the IT Intern position focusing on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)/Geographic Information System (GIS) located in Lafayette, LA.

Potential candidates should be prepared to commit to a working schedule of a minimum of 30 hours per two-week period, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. We are looking for someone who would like a long-term internship, possibly 18-24 months. ( Remote work is not available ).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle Work Orders related to CAD Maintenance, Personnel Changes, Premise/Location input and editing & Data updates.
• Handling Service Desk Tickets, Central Square Tickets, New World CAD, Bomgar support, phone support and emails.
• Scribe and contact Comm Center leadership during CAD upgrades.
• Work with other I.T. staff to maintain workstation operations, updates, and maintenance.
• Maintain CAD System Data and settings.
• Assist with data collection with GPS and field collection.
• Ensure data accuracy.
• Record and document details of map updates, additions or deletions.

Qualifications:

• MUST be a full-time college student actively pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree with a background in Environmental Sciences, Geology or related Information Systems Major
• Knowledgeable about Esri ArcGIS 10x and with extensions Network Analyst, 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst a plus but not required
