Please Note: Our Modern Work & Security team is a hybrid team and, while remote work is an option, we are giving preference to candidates based in Utah to help with the team dynamic and set our new hires up for success. 

JourneyTeam is looking for a Microsoft 365 Senior Consultant for our Modern Work and Security team. In this role, you will play a leadership role in the design, development, and maintenance of client solutions. You will lead and work closely with junior team members to perform security assessments and improve Microsoft systems and processes. The ideal candidate is an eager learner, and passionate mentor, with a deep and analytical understanding in one or more of the following: Microsoft Identity and Access Management, Security & Compliance, Device management (Intune), and Exchange Online. We are looking for strong troubleshooting and business analysis skills with a penchant for keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of Microsoft products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, troubleshoot, and support client’s technology needs within Microsoft 365: Identity and Access Management, Security & Compliance, Exchange Online, Business Analysis and Change Management.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and knowledge sharing sessions to develop skills and expertise.
  • Development and maintenance of technical documentation; including, but not limited to, user guides, technical specifications, support documents, and technical diagrams.
  • Implement Microsoft technologies with a Zero Trust Architecture methodology.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and best practices to support the organization's evolving Modern Work & Security needs.
  • Lead Modern Work and Security projects, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop project plans, milestones, tasks related to client projects.
  • Manage tasks and backlogs for projects that you are on.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor and guide other team members.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in Modern Work & Security.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Defender solutions, Purview, and Exchange Online.
  • 5+ years of Microsoft 365 Administration Experience.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell (Entra, Microsoft Graph, Exchange Online, Security & Compliance modules).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work multiple problems at once.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple successful projects and team members simultaneously.
  • Stay up to date with Microsoft and Industry best practices around IAM, Security, and Compliance.

  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)

  • Assigned to 2-3 projects as a technical resource.
  • 50% of time spent on client projects.

60-Days

  • Assigned to 3-5 projects as a technical resource.
  • 65% of time spent on client projects.
  • Start to lead discussions on client working sessions.

90-Days

  • Assigned to 5 projects minimum as a technical resource.
  • Identify projects to be assigned as a project lead.
  • 75% - 80% of time spent on client projects.
  • Assigned to Zero Trust Architecture project (long-term strategic engagement).

Compensation: 

Base salary of $90,000 - $125,000 annually. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (see benefits outline below).

JourneyTEAM offers a wide range of excellent benefits including healthcare and dental options, as well as a 401k with a ~4% employer match with funds that vest immediately. We enjoy unlimited time off and our employees average 3.5 to 4 weeks off a year. We also provide a monthly phone stipend of $25 as well as a gym membership monthly reimbursement of up to $200.
