The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and diverse Motorsports CAD F1 Leader to join our elite team at GM Motorsports, which supports NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, and Formula 1. As a Motorsports CAD F1 Leader, you will collaborate with the Cadillac Formula 1 team, external vendors, and your team of designers. You should possess expertise in design best practices, manufacturing design, and material selection. Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) programs for validating parts designed by you or your team is essential. You will oversee all Formula 1-related design and manufacturing projects, manage design project workflows, program hours, and part releases. Additionally, you will be responsible for understanding and operating test rigs to validate parts when necessary.

Use 3DX, NX, GrabCAD, HyperMesh, ServoTest software and knowledge of composite and alloy materials
Part design, manufacturing processing, and installation
Interpret and make inferences from test data

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
10+ years of automotive motorsports industry
12+ years CAD software 3DX, NX, SolidWorks, FEA tools Abaqus
10+ years hands on testing with data collection
Strong understanding of composite and alloy material properties and manufacturing processes
5+ years managing various manufacturing projects from beginning to end
10+ years knowledge of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and machine design
7+ years of additive manufacturing experience
Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements
Ability to handle and delegate multiple projects efficiently
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
Domestic travel is required about 3 times per year; International travel may be required once per year
