Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiology team. In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing and treating congenital heart conditions in pediatric patients. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, personalized care. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and analyze echocardiograms on pediatric patients with congenital heart conditions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
• Verify patient identity, obtain medical history, and assess the patients ability to tolerate the procedure.
• Collaborate with cardiologists to provide preliminary findings and ensure the examination aligns with the patients clinical history.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, performing routine quality assurance and reporting any malfunctions.
• Assist in training and onboarding new sonographers and cardiology fellows, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education to stay current with advancements in the field.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for patients and their families.
• Participate in an on-call schedule to support the departments needs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiac Sonography Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Sonography Technology (preferred).
• Certifications:
  • Basic or Advanced Life Support certification (required).
  • One of the following credentials (required):
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI),
    • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by CCI,
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Candidates with RCS or RDCS AE must obtain RCCS or RDCS PE within 18 months of employment.
