We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Senior Event Sales Manager to join our team. This key position is responsible for managing all event sales activities, ensuring that events are executed with the highest level of professionalism, service, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be passionate about uncovering new revenue opportunities, driving business growth, and providing an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage all event sales efforts, from initial inquiry to event execution, including fielding inquiries, site visits and client meetings, developing proposals and negotiating contracts
-Execute the sales and marketing plan to drive revenue growth and meet established goals
-Develop and implement strategies to increase event revenue and expand our client base
-Coordinate details and menus for clients’ functions and maintain budgeted review through solicitation of business while controlling expenditures
-Evaluate and proactively improve current sales and prospecting practices for new business opportunities in the corporate, association, and wedding market segments
-Establish client base of organizations, associations, social and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded
-Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce additional business
-Follow the company processes for event-related finances, including pricing, sales goals, costing, client deposits and payments
-Define monthly and quarterly event sales goals; communicate and evaluate progress against these goals with the executive management team
-Accurately forecast and analyze individual booking revenues and cancellations; accurately track consumption on all bookings
-Assist the client in menu planning including coordination of food, beverage, meeting room set-up, decorations and other services requested by client; assure that all requirements are communicated and completed to the client’s specifications
-Conduct site visits of the event venues and expose clients to facility and services; entertain qualified potential clients
-Maintain event-related software and other event business applications
-Create and sustain productive relationships and negotiate contracts with event-related clients, vendors, companies and supporters
-Direct, implement and maintain a management philosophy which serves as a guide for the team
-Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but no limited to, providing supervision and professional development and delivering recognition and reward
-Communicate with the execution team to provide event information and changes
-Adhere to established company and departmental guidelines and policies
Education, Experience and Required Skills
-Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management or closely related discipline
-At least 4 years of experience in hospitality and event management in the restaurant, resort, or hotel industry
-Excellent sales and customer service skills
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Extensive knowledge of computers including Google Apps, Microsoft Office and Triple Seat (or comparable event proposal program)
-Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
-Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations
-Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food
-Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis
-Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations
-Must be able to bend or twist body
-Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
-Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
-A valid CA driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record
-A pre-employment background check is required
Compensation and Benefits
-This is a full-time, salaried position
-The Company reasonably expects to pay in the range of $80k to $100k plus bonus for this position. Of course, this is depending on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs. This wage range may be modified in the future.
